Huge Crowds Enjoy Cape Lavender's Annual Lavender Festival !
Blue skies and sunshine added to the festival feel as visitors from the local area and around the world enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, a wonderful display of lavender in bloom and a celebration of good food, great wine, natural health, talks, demonstrations, workshops, art, live music, fun for kids and all things lavender!
Against the beautiful backdrop of our vines and trout filled lake, the marquees nestled amongst the lavender included a wonderful selection of art, photography and pottery, with a well known local artist painting at her easel all day. There were fabulous lavender themed products, Christmas gifts and local produce for tasting and purchasing.
For anyone needing some relaxation after all the retail therapy there were masseurs, healers, spiritual readers, eco retreats and garden designers on hand.
It was a great opportunity for people to learn a little more about our industry with our workshops to make your own lavender hand and body lotion proving very popular and our talk and demonstration about the techniques of lavender stripping drawing quite a crowd.

For those more interested in plants and gardening we had guided tours to our own organic veggie gardens and walks around the lake through our 90 varieties of lavender.
Our famous lavender scones were served up all day in our garden restaurant and for those in the mood for something a little stronger there was lavender wine and beer tasting.
The lavender pony had a very busy day taking kids for rides around the lake and there was free face painting and balloon sculptures so everyone had something to remember their day.
The Lavender Fairy made a special appearance to hand out the prizes for the fancy dress competition and to read her story about the fairy who lives at Cape Lavender.
We will be announcing events for the 2010 Festival in the next few months but exhibitors can register interest in marquees now by emailing julie@capelavender.com.au
We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors and look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year when we will be bigger and better! Here are just some of the emails we’ve received:
Greetings to Cape Lavender,
Wow, my sister and I attended your Festival over the weekend and we just LOVED it! We enjoyed the numerous stalls and purchased many fine lavender products.
We also smelled gorgeous with the spray mist, body lotion and balms that we sampled. Afterwards, we sipped lavender champagne and ate our delicious lavender scones at the outdoor setting next to the pond. What a peaceful setting! Your staff were brilliant, the grounds were brilliant, the whole festival was brilliant! Thank you for allowing us to join in the festivities and yes, we'll be back again next year!
I appreciate there would have been a huge amount of planning and preparation
(dare I say, blood sweat and tears) for this weekend - I hope it was everything
you imagined. For us, as visitors, it was a huge success!
Hope you are all feeling well rested after a mammoth effort! The place looked fantastic – well done. We enjoyed the weather and the cruisy atmosphere on the day. Congratulations.
Just a quick thank you for having us at the festival.
We did exceptionally well, almost as good as the boat show and that was over 4 days with something like 8000 people!!!!
So yes, please consider us next year.
Enjoyed meeting you all very much and you were all delightful to work with.
Thanks again
